Chihuahua - Spirit - Small - Adult - Male - Dog
Spirit is a 7lb Chihuhua that has been in foster care a long time. He's gotten a bad rap, received a lot of labels on his behavior and just hasn't found the right spot to "fit in".
Spirit's new foster home heard all of his stories, encouraged him to leave whatever baggage he might have at the door, and the rest is history. This is a delightful little Chi with a wonderful attitude. And not the "typical" Chi attitude either. This little guy is very responsive and follows a dog savvy leader with ease. He is the perfect balance of activity and lap dog.
Spirit is a dream on leash. He is currently fostered with 3 male Aussies and is doing wonderfully with all of them. He loves to run beside his favorite Aussie brother along with his foster Mom. His foster Mom actually ties Spirit's leash to this Aussie and he does so well with it. Spirit is also fostered with several cats and is great with them as well. This is a very soft dog that responds immediately to the slightest correction. He has done very well with children and dog savvy adults who know how to greet a new dog appropriately. Spirit would be best placed in a home that will treat him like a dog, not a little dog. He wants to please and he wants to be just what he is...a fantastic canine companion.
One of Spirit's labels was that he is not appropriate with little dogs. We will test this with some friendly well balanced little dogs and being able to provide that feedback to a potential adopter. Spirit will require a neuter procedure and will be available for adoption soon. He is fostered in Kennesaw, GA.
