Handsome, low-mainetance fella seeks simple companionship!
Shakes is a 2 y/o, 20 lb Miniature Australian Shepherd who was rescued after spending a year as a puppy mill dog. He would fit well into a home with folks who are more accustomed to cats than dogs as he prefers to chose how and when he interacts with people. It will take a getting-to-know you period before Shakes seeks affection from you in the form of petting and general attention. Because young Shakes was caged and given minimal interaction in his puppy mill days, his wish would simply be to have your company and/or that of another dog. Shakes likes to follow you around without too much handling. He walks well on a leash, but does have problems with being kenneled or otherwise cut off like he was when caged at the puppy mill. His ideal home would be one with a dog door out a privately fenced yard and/or someone who would like a nice walking companion. Shakes doesn't mind other animals and is prone to ignore non-dogs. His demands are genuinely very low. Shakes wants to be fed and to hang out with you and other dogs. If a low-maintenace relationship is what you seek, Shakes is your guy!
