Corgi - Shorty - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog
Shorty is almost six years of age.He was adopted as a eight week old puppy to a young man who adored his new puppy and Shorty believed he was the best thing. I also,thought it was one of the best adoptions I had made. A big fenced in yard with shelter plus he could come inside the heated garage in the winter. A couple of years passed and the Humane Society received a call that Shorty needed to be returned. The young man was going to be a Dad! The woman in his life said "no dog germs on the new baby" She had already re-homed her Golden and now insisted Shorty be placed elsewhere. Despite talking to convince her she insisted Shorty had to go. So, through the tears of the young man Shorty came back to the Humane Society. He was between 2 and 3 years old. He needs a fenced yard as he will roam.He lives with a 80 pound pit bull and they are the best buds. He has had obedience training and loves to walk on a leash for as long as you are willing. He also, is crate -trained and no matter how long he is left in the crate he has never messed inside it. Deborah - foster Shorty will keep the little creatures out of your yard especially squirrels,rabbits and mice. He does not like cats and will do damage to them if they wander into his yard. However,while on a leash he walks right past my cats as if he never saw them. What breed is he? What ever you want. He has the characteristics of a Corgi or Basset Hound with those short legs and long body.(Do not let the crooked legs worry you, he can keep up with all play activities) He has the coloring and double coat of a German Shepherd. With his big head he could have some Boxer or Bulldog genes mixed in there. He deserves a home that has a fenced yard,someone who will walk or play with him.Maybe a teen he likes all children but, because he is very strong and he may bowl over smaller children while playing. A crate to come into at night. He needs to be fed in his crate if you have other dogs as he guards his food but,will gingerly take a treat from you very sweetly. No cats
