Chihuahua - Rudy - Guest - Small - Adult - Male - Dog
Rudy was rescued from Cobb County by a wonderful volunteer who took him home, got him all healthy and happy!

Rudy was dumped at animal control by his owner of only a couple of weeks. He was so traumatized & unapproachable - eyes popping, hunkered down in the back of the kennel - he looked like he was going to explode. And he was skinny. It was clear that he wouldn’t make it out of the shelter without intervention.
Within a few days it was obvious that his attitude was due to pain. He had infections that had abscessed covering half of his left side. His condition went undetected because it was completely hidden by his coat, until it started to weep. He needed surgery to remove all of the necrotic tissue & thankfully there was enough tissue to easily close him up. I believe that eventually his coat will grow over the scars.
He’s a new boy now. He loves to play, he loves to eat, & he loves getting treats. He’s still leery of new people. He has to get comfortable in his own time. But believe me, it’s worth waiting for.

õ Will sleep cuddled up to his human or in his own bed
õ No separation anxiety or problem being alone
õ Not an overly yappy barker - but is typical yappy Chihuahua
õ Absolutely loves to play with people & dogs - especially catch me if you can!
õ Loves to go for walks & can be let out in a fenced back yard
õ Loves attention, being petted & massaged
õ Will need time to settle in & get comfortable in his new situation - patience needed
