Provides medical care to hospital in-patients under the direction of a supervising physician in the Hospitalist program. Examines, evaluates, and treats patients with medical conditions, illness or injuries. Advise patients on the maintenance of good health. Perform histories and physical exams. Assist with daily hospital rounds. Prepare admission orders. Prepares discharge documents. Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records. Provides patient education. Communicates with referring physicians daily on the status of their patients. Facilitates transfers from other facilities. Assists utilization management team as needed. Ability to work in crisis situations.
Physician's Asst.Master's degree or a bachelor's degree; graduate of certified Physician's Assistant program. Three years professional hospital-based work experience as a Physician Assistant; preferably in Critical Care, Surgery and/or ER. Licensure as a Physician's Assistant by the National Board of Medical Examiners or the American Academy of Physician's Assistants. State of Georgia licensure as a PA is required.

Nurse Practitioner - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current GA. License for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing. Three years professional hospital-based work experience preferably in Critical Care. Augments a physician's ability to provide medical services to patients. Assesses diagnosis and treats patients within the scope of care defined by the Georgia State Nurse Practice Act for Nurse Practitioners.
